NEW PALTZ

CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

JUNE 2008 NEWSLETTER

To all the family of the New Paltz Nazarene family, I bring you greetings in the Lord.  June is already upon us and I am still getting over all the business of May.

I am sure the kids are excited about June as school will soon be over for a while.  These are very exciting days in the life of the church.  I am fully aware that having a Transitional Interim Pastor has been a new and at times challenging experience for the people of the church.  Change is always difficult at best.  I must remind you and myself that change is not about us, but rather it is about maximizing our efforts and strategy to reach the unsaved of the New Paltz ministry area.  Our District Superintendent, Rev. Art Alexander is talking to various potential candidates to present to the Board for their consideration.  Many have questions of what to expect in the way if change and the reason behind some of the changes and modernization.  I encourage all to stay for the Luncheon on June 1.  Following our meal we will gather in the sanctuary to share what will be done relative to “Ministries, Structure, Spiritual Growth, and Facilities.”

There are several events planned for June which I hope you will enjoy.  The first is this Sunday’s Luncheon as stated above.  The second is for Sunday June 8th, we will have a farewell luncheon for Richard & Joyce Christiana as they say good-bye to their New Paltz family.  They have sold their home and are moving to Buffalo to be closer to family and especially those grandchildren.  We are sad to see them leave, but rejoice with them and wish them much success in their retirement years.

Let us not forget “FATHER’S DAY” coming up on June 15th.  A great day to do something special for Dad.

Blessings,  Pastor Ron
