The Sunbeam Nursery School strives to provide preschoolers with a special place to grow and learn. We have been called to provide a nurturing environment specifically for preschoolers, one which will enhance all areas of their spiritual, intellectual, social, and physical development.

School Hours

We meet Monday through Wednesday, from 9:00-11:30 and accept children ages 3 to 5. Group size is limited to fifteen children. There are two staff members: Carol Rosenberger, Director, and Doreen Lukas, Assistant. 

 

We are a cooperative school which means that parents have the option of being a part of the staff one morning each month. We are also a Christian school and a ministry of the New Paltz Church of the Nazarene. People of all faiths are welcome. We spend time each week to learn about God's love for us through Bible stories, songs, and prayers. Each session contains play time, group interaction time, and a craft time.

 

Additionally, we have field trips, special music, and other special events throughout the year. Each week we focus on a special topic of interest. The crafts and other activities are then centered around this theme. As each child becomes developmentally able, more individual work is done in pre-reading, writing, and math skills. 

We meet in the lower level of the church in a large open area. Areas of interest are set up around the room, and the children can choose where they would like to play each day. We also have an outdoor play area containing swing sets, sand box, climbing gym, and other toys.

Tuition

The monthly tuition for the 2009-2010 school year is $80.00 for those who choose to co-op and $90.00 for those who do not. You are offered a warm welcome to join us at Sunbeam. We have a good time learning and growing together.
